ABOUT Your Booking
What day do I have to start my holiday on?

You can start your holiday on any day of the week, subject to availability. Weekend breaks are particularly popular, so early booking is recommended.

How much deposit is required?

We require a 25% deposit to secure your booking, with the balance due 30 days before arrival. You can also choose to pay in full at the time of booking.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Check-in is from 16.00pm and check-out by 10.00am. We're happy to arrange alternative times where possible - just let us know your requirements.

How do I pay?

Payment can be made through the website, through Airbnb / booking.com or using Paypal. However we ask that the deposit is paid using a valid credit card as this is the card we will use to pre-authorise the security deposit.

When is my balance due?

Your balance is due 30 days before your arrival date.

Is there a security deposit on the property?

Yes, there is a £250 security deposit that is pre authorised on your credit card 2 days before your arrival.

When will I receive my security deposit back?

Your security deposit will be returned within 48 hours of yourdeparture. If there is a problem with the property you will be notified within 24 hours to discuss the issue.

What is the cancellation policy?

We appreciate that sometimes things don’t go to plan, please contact us via email or telephone if you need to cancel and we will refund any monies that have been paid to us minus commission fees taken by third party sites. If you wish to move your booking to an alternative date we will do our best to accommodate this.

Where is my booking confirmation?

This will be via an email through a third party provider or directly from the website.

What’s included in the price?

You will have the exclusive use of the house with oil heating and electricity. Bed linen, towels and kitchen utensils, pots, and crockery is provided. Some guests have brought beach towels with them for use around the hot tub.

Where do I pick up the keys?

The key to the front door is located in a key box to the right-hand side of the door. The key to the back door is located to the left of the back door. You will receive two emails prior to your arrival which will give you the code to the key box.

Extras, can I add to my booking?

We can provide robes for your stay at an additional cost of £10.00 per robe. We recognise that every stay at Vicarsford is unique, if you have a specific requirement please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss this in more detail.

How to get there?
About the Property
Is there parking at the property?

Yes there is plenty of parking for approximately 5 cars, motorcycles can be parked in the garage, however if bringing a motor bike, please take care on the farm drive leading to the house.

Can I bring  a bike?

Yes there is a large garage that bikes can be stored in. Cycling in Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve is ideal for the younger members of the family, the forest tracks are wide and flat and there is an enclosed, well equipped adventure playground.

Do you have any bedrooms on the ground floor?

Unfortunately at the moment all of our bedrooms and shower rooms are situated on the first floor of the house, this requires guests to walk up a flight of stairs to access them.

Are there any age restrictions?

We accept bookings from over 18’s only.

Can I stay for 1 night?

Unfortunately our minimum stay is 2 nights.

Can I bring my dog or other pets?

We accept up to 3 dogs at the house, however we do not accept any other pets.

What are the arrival and departure times?

You are welcome to arrive at the property anytime after 16.00 and you are asked to vacate the farmhouse by 10.00am on the day of your departure. If you would like to arrange an earlier arrival or later departure please contact us to discuss this, we will be happy to accommodate this if possible at no extra charge.

Will my hot tub be ready to use when I arrive?

Whilst every attempt is made for your hot tub to be ready for your arrival there may be the unfortunate occasion that it isn’t fully ready. This is due to the importance of deep cleaning the hot tub prior to every guest’s arrival.

Are BBQ’s permitted?

If you would like to bring a barbecue please discuss this with us first, if you wish to use a disposable bbq whilst you are at the property we ask that you do not put it on the decking or anywhere that it is likely to leave a heat mark

Is the property well equipped?

The property has a well equipped kitchen with pots, cutlery and crockery suitable for catering for up to 10 people. Hand soap, body wash/shampoo is provided in all bathrooms as are toilet rolls. A welcome tray is provided on arrival with tea, coffee and biscuits.

Is there wi-fi?

Wifi is provided for your convenience, however the property is a rural property and  strength of the wifi signal can be dependant on the weather. The property is also a large house and there are places in the house that the signal may not reach.

Is there a charging point for my car?

There its no charging point at the property, the nearest charging point is at Tayport Harbour, DD6 9BG chargeplacescotland.org

Accessibility?

The house is not suitable for guests who rely on wheelchairs or other forms of mobility assistance. All bedrooms and bathrooms are situated on the first floor which is only accessed by a flight of stairs.
